Forums - Gaming - Seems that P. Spencer strangled Kotaku editor's cat (Halo 5/Q. Break)

I think quantum break could be another order 1886. We dont really know how the time warp works, it seems more like scripted events instead of interactivity, and the game will probably have a lot of cutscenes

People still take Kotaku seriously?

I'm not sure what the complaint it here with what they wrote about QB. I'm not too familiar with QB, but if it's true that you have to just sit and watch these 20 minute episodes between sections of gameplay, then that sounds like a legitimate gripe. It's the whole reason I hated MGS IV when I played it, and I was really hoping to like that game.

Yeah, quantum break has a live action television show that is mixed in with it... The show supposedly changes and adapts to how you play... Which just means the actors just had to a bunch of scenes slightly different... Which means they probably weren't putting their best effort into any one scene...

Why? That's like saying actors in Cloud Atlas didn't put their best effort into any one scene, considering they had to make multiple characters with disjointed personalities, and also happens that the movie adapts itself to different protagonists and thus not a single one takes the lead way.

But the thing is, they did. The acting in Cloud Atlas is extremely good. Why that pessimistic view over the acting in Quantum Break? Give them the benefit of doubt. Just because it's a videogame it doesn't necessarily mean that the actors might just tag along and not display their worth as actors themselves.

It's not really the same thing.  If the show is adapting to your choices, then the actors would just be running the same scene over and over again but with slightly different dialogue.  In situation like that, it is probably likely that they would prioritize content instead of quality.  They aren't going to do a lot of reshooting when they are already basically doing a lot of reshooting...

but it you are right, I really don't know how they did it, this is just what I imagine would happen.  So who knows, I guess we will see how it holds up.  I am still really excited for this game, but the television segments always sounded a little hokey to me...

These are impressions of previews. I don't know why people are getting angry over this. Most of us have probably played a demo of a game, been impressed or unimpressed, then changed our minds after playing the full game, or even changed our minds from one demo to the next. But writers can't do that? Okay.

Anyway, the one thing I think was out of place was the title of the Quantum Break piece, which was probably set by an editor. It seemed a lot more click-bait-ish than the actual article.

To be fair Whiskers was quite a cute cat and I say that as someone who's not a pet person.

What a small world. Two people with the same name working at a same magazine.

Again the let one was written after seeing the stage demo, the right one was written after seeing the private press demonstration.

One could see that change in opinion as a person that was really interested in the game just being genuinely disappointed by what he was shown behind closed doors but I guess we rather go the "they are just fishing for clicks"-route.
