pretty sure that hitler did the same and some countries changed their time to allign with Nazi germany (think Spain). Infact DST (Daylight Saving Time) is still used by many European countries and that was introduced thanks to Nazi Germany.

Yeah, Germany even forced Britain, the USA and Russia into DST by losing the WW1... and then again by losing WW2... it's a conspiracy! ;)
DST was invented independently at opposites of the world by William Willett (England) and George Hudson (New Zealand) and proposed to their own governments as models to save energy.
It's hardly surprising that these models were tested when energy/coal/oil/resources were even more important than normal (both world wars and the oil crisis in the 1970s). And as much as I hate to change the time of my clocks two times per year... if it helps to reduce the waste of energy on a global scale, I'm okay with it.

euhm that is why I said many European countries. Occupied countries were forced to use what some consider the 'Hitler time'. Nazi Germany was the first country in the world using DST time. Before the world wars cities in countries were even having different timezones. Basically it meant that when it was 5.30 in Marseille it was 6.00 in Paris/6.30 in Brussels and 7.00 in Amsterdam. After the wars their were debates to change it back but many felt that the change made sense even if it was forced by Nazi Germany..

At least they don't have daylight savings times. Seriously... Fuck DST.

That's 70 Japanese years, you imperialist pig. In North Korean time, it barely took them 69 years, 264 days, 23 hours, and 30 minutes. |
