sorry but it's not SE fault that there are people so desperate and emotional that they get angry when they don't get what they want. if you can't handle the tease, don't follow the news.

Hmmm nope. If SE was a stripper and if that was the best striptease they could do, I would want my money back and sue their ass for wasting my time.

A tease done right? Just showing Cloud and Barrett's backs and the iconic buster sword is enough. Not like this. It will never be.

so far i don't think you have paid them anything when it comes to ffxv. all you did is investing your time by following ffxv related news. and due to the fact they're not forcing to do so, it is your own fault.

I don't even know what's your argument in here when the thread is about Square Enix handing down marketing deals to Sony so they could focus on making a good game better. What are you even fighting for?

How exactly does the game get better by handing down marketing deals to Sony? Do the PR people of Square Enix help out in other departments?

what SE needs to do is just stop showing stupid trailers or talking about dogs and cats in the game as if they are the first people to ever make a game. The need to just shut up and let the next trailer they show have a release date and then say nothing till the game is finished.

Its like they are stupid or something. Too much of everything is not good. And this stick and carrot crap they are doing with the game needs to stop.

Your post does not make sense. Or didn't you catch the metaphor in my post.

Time is an investment itself. Fans don't want companies wasting their time. I could've gotten an 8 hours of sleep if not for SE. The fans and the hardcore gamers are what brings what we call "word of mouth" to mainstream/casual gamers. SE and most developers are banking on us and the gaming media to give impressions to people who otherwise won't stream this live. With the advent of social media, there are no longer paid hype men. We have are our own voices nowadays. And if you multiply it by hundred thousands voices then you get the idea of it trending on twitter or facebook or youtube's top ten.

SE has to impress us or the casual would simply flick the pages to another news. If we can't be impressed, then those people most probanly won't. Treading on that thin ice shouldn't be something SE is doing right now. This project has almost ten years of development. Most won't have their hype levels stay strong for too long given SE's history last gen.

Pretty much this, just get the damn game finished.

As if that would free up the marketing guys to work on game development? It's not the same work force.

Sony could've shown TLG last year but decided not to instead they waited until they had a perfectly running gameplay of a demo which speaks more than a CGI trailer. They could've done that but a demo gameplay would absolutely silence the haters to oblivion. Blahblah CGI trailer.lol

Or they could've shown Uncharted 4 extended live demo gameplay which would absolutely destroy E3 2015 to smithereens(which was already destroyed by sony tbh) but decided not to as that would steal the spotlight from FFVIIR, Shenmue 3, Horizon, TLG etc. Instead they gave a staggerred release weel after E3. Which is really great favor to everyone. FFVIIR got the spotlight, Shenmue 3 became the best-funded kickstarter videogame of all time and Horizon did not have to compete with Uncharted and TLG was still remembered as one the best intro for  E3.

Timing is very important for marketing and Sony is killing it so far spacing announcrments after announcement, release dates all through out the year for maximum impact.

Even the Order sold quite well despite being lambasted critically because the competition was not that feb.

Rocket League got a lot of hype and userbase  off the bat because of the PS+ deal.

Sony went from the biggest electronics company in the world to almost bankrupt.
The company is a shadow of its former self.
So please take it easy with all the credits you give them.
And the PS4 succes cant be seen without MS' mistakes leading to the X1 launch.

All you show are some examples where Sonys's own marketing didn't fail.
