As a Chinese gamer I got to say its better than final fantasy‘s male characters. Thats good enough for me and many other Chinese. Cant speak for other East Asians though.

Yeah i know it's not JRPG, but this games clearly intend for Japanese type of games lover audience, like Devil may Cry, Monster Hunter or Bayoneta.

"Is this character worth 400$ ?" should be the correct question (maybe less if pricecut).

Also dubstep isn't exactly big in japan as far as i know. Overall both the character and the hole game looks like a western japanese hybrid. Wether asian JRPG lovers will like it or not can't be predicted IMO.
