Well before last year Gamescom were just some unknown game festival, maybe for Europe audience but last year SONY make Gamescom popular through out the world. And also SONY home always in Europe now, even now they have reclaim back UK. So event if they don't have any press conference this year on Paris , they don't need to worry much, and E3 last month press conference is worth for the entire PS4 generation. And also There is no indication PS4 sales falling down in Europe. So everything already been planned by SONY.

OMG! Sony isn't at Gamescom! XB1 is going to take over the world because Sony have no game.. If this is the crap i am to expect 10 times a month, i rather go back to conspiracy theories as entertainment.

About not having as much as MS to show... they also have TGS and PSX this year. That's 3 conferences left vs MS's one.

Yes. Clearly Sony has announced all the 1st party exclusive PS4 games that will be released for the rest of the 8th generation. It is inconceivable that Sony will make any games for PS4 other than the ones they've already announced. It makes total sense that Sony will only release 1 game per year from here on.

Sony has far more games lined up already so MS has to play catchup. Besides Sony has Paris Games week as they've said since E3.

What is it with this recent obsession with Gamescom? I mean, I know it's always been somewhat popular, but all of the sudden, since Sony isn't having a formal conference there, it's somehow become the end all be all of gaming shows. Hell, you've even got some fans saying Sony's lack of a presser will boost XB1 passed the PS4 in sales in Europe... I'm not sure if a statement can get anymore ridiculous in these discussions.

Either way, on top of all that, these same people are completely ignoring the fact that Sony has THREE more press conferences by the end of the year: Paris Games Week, Tokyo Game Show, and Playstation Experience. Maybe Sony simply doesn't feel the need to spend shit tons of money on so many press conferences in a single year?
