Forums - Politics Discussion - Dave Cameron is to give porn websites one last chance to produce an effective voluntary scheme for age-restricted controls on their sites or he will introduce legislation that could see them shut down

So basically he's telling them that they will be shutdown, because there's no way to do that.

Of course there's a way to do that. Have you never seen that 'Are you over 18? Yes or no?' question before? Or what about the ones that they use on some game videos, I know Steam does it, where they ask you to put in your date of birth as proof of age?

Edit: This is also only UK based sites right? So another solution might be to just base their site in a different country

Cameron was asking for robust age restrictions though... Unless he thinks children are to stupid to press "yes", or insert a date that makes you over 18 (I do that on Steam all the time...)

I think what you describe in your edit is much more likely to happen.

TBH I didn't even know there were any porn sites based in the UK anyways, so may not even affect that many.

some people like rotten mouths...

I'm not sure what those sites can do to restrict access.

Wut.

Um, good luck with that, Google.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Harmful content?
How are the brits going to watch the Premier League then?

he realy wants gb to stay in the EU... thats against EU law for sure...

Maybe he should focus on reforming their sex and family planning education instead. The UK still has the highest teen pregnancy rate. Threatening a few UK porn sites is not going to do anything.

Porn isn't a very big issue imo. If kids parents can't keep their kids off these websites, that's kind of their fault. There are ways to keep kids off of porn sites, such as child safety passwords. Plus, even if they do watch it, it isn't hurting the kids too much.

We have bigger problems in the world.

I'm sure multiple problems can be tackled at once, I doubt David Cameron is personally looking into this too

But then what are teenagers supposed to jack off to?
