This game blueprint precedes Banjo and Conker. Rare has been meaning to make this game for almost 20 years.

It will probably be the the best game microsofts rare makes. But to me that is still not saying much. But we will see.

Never played it. Most of the people Ive talked to who played it though said the pirate stuff was kinda average and I dont want to deal with AssCreed just for some average pirate stuff in between.

But seriously outside of ACIV can you think of any others?? They are so damn rare (huh Rare) and yet we get a new zombie game or a new space game etc. every freaking quater.

I honestly don't see that happening, it looks bland... But you never know!

I found the pirate stuff to be amazing.  Epic sea battles, upgrading your ship, capturing enemy ships, stealing and selling cargo, organizing a trade fleet, treasure hunting, harpooning, raiding smuggler's dens...  The assassination stuff is almost beside the point, though I will say I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.  If you're into pirate stuff I highly suggest you give it a try, because it's undoubtedly the best pirate experience in a game to date.

You're right though that the theme is hugely underused, and I've thought about that a lot myself.  There's so much potential there, and pirates are otherwise very popular.  Yet so few people have tried to really give us that kind of experience beyond just the setting for a story.

I will glady get the game at launch, I still have faith in rare when other people have lost faith.
