I don't mean to sound racist or anything but in their culture it's not a big deal to have sex with brothers sisters or cousins. In-breeding would likely cause a change in mitosis and create other gene disorders due to shared reccesive alleles coming together.

 

 

I think the reasons why there are so many gene disorders in india, is because they are lack of nutrition, also in many area, the drinking water is polluted

 

btw, what's wrong to have sex with cousins? is it a taboo in you country? it's perfectly normal in most asian countries. 

In fact, many people married with their cousin (maternal-side), it isn't like their children will be retarded

@stclam. Actually it is I am fairly sure close enough to cause problems with inbreeding. Not as severe as closer relations but a first cousin relationship is still close enough.

Certainly wikipedia is a reliable enough reference for me - it sais , "inbreeding results in more recessive deleterious traits manifesting themselves".

If general fitness were the target a pure breed with no recessive bad traits will be more than equal to a mongrel which has multiple recessive disorders (ie outbreeding)- nature continually eliminates recessive disorders in populations via inbreeding or and outbreeding. In a healthy population closely related animals including humans will produce very successfull offspring.

There are also recessive advantages which are expressed by population imbreeding these beneficial recessive traits are also a very important driving force of population genetic changes - Evolution is more complex than most people realise and there are no rules.

inbreeding is actually very common in horse breeding business 

1/2 siblings, 3/4 siblings....that will make their bloodline even better.
