Forums - Nintendo - What Wii U games will be ported over to NX as definitive editions.

Hopefully none, though since I'm still hoping for it to launch in 2017, A remaster of 2016's Zelda U would at launch would be fine by me, and wouldn't upset the WiiU crowd.

Around the Network

Zelda HD is the only one. Game will be released alongside the NX, maybe a week later than the Wii U version or if they have courage, at the same time.

Maybe Xenoblade X.

Not a single one, not even Zelda Wii U, im calling it right now. And when it turns out im right i need an applause ^_^

I agree mostly! But I do think Zelda will either have a definitive version or they will dual release it as they did with Twilight Princess depending on the launch date of the NX.

Although I do think it would be smart to have Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4 re-released, I just don't see how they would for those.

I dont think they port Zelda Wii U to NX. I see the twilight princess thing as a one thing only. I didnt see Skyward getting ported.

I kind of hope it gets ported, just so it's some sort of Zelda at launch, even if it's on another system. It would help to boost the sales a bit :o

Lol they only just finished smash 4 and are hard at work making dlc for it  and you expect smash 5 in 2016 or 2017? No chance, i dont think we will see smash 5 untill 2020 because they usually release smash every 6 years.

Super Smash Bros. 1999
Super Smash BRos Melee 2001

Context

They usually develop Smash once a generation, inbetween that they work on various other titles (kirby) if there is time. The games do not have a 5 yeard development cycle, their release is determined by the availability of new hardware. if NX launches in 2016, history shows that smash would be made available as soon as they can finish a new one as its one of Nintendo's main system sellers. Every generation following its conception Smash has been released within the openning 2 years of a consoles life cycle. For Wii U they had to develop 2 titles at the same time which slowed them down. Going by rumours this time they'll be developing 1 title, scalable across a handheld and console meaning devlopement time will be shorter then what we saw this gen, especially if they don't get bogged down by another title like they did with Kid Icarus. The leads to us getting a new game between 12 and 18months from the NX's release as a releastic expectation.

I never said 2016, I  said we could see one title (Most likely mario kart) as a launch window title which is not the same as launch title. Assuming NX launches fall 2016, a spring or summer 2017 release would count as  launch window which is quite a generic term. Finally the entire Smash team is not working on DLC.

smash melee 2001

smash brawl 2008

smash wii u 2014

You can't compare 64 to melee because 64 was such a small game compared to what it is now, it is such a behemoth these days that they can't just have a new game ready within 2 years. Smash 4 was such a huge undertaking and sakurai said the team had to push themselves to their limits. Trust me they're in no hurry to build a new game from scratch anytime soon.

A dual release would mean it is the definitive edition since it will probably have a superior resolution and framerate.

I hope it doesnt get ported, i want the Wii U to have atleast one more really really amazing exclusive. Thats why i bought a Wii U, maybe they can make the NX BC, therefor you have to buy Zelda Wii U anyway

Good question. I think the NX will be, at least, digitally BC with WiiU software, like the XBone is with 360. But yes, we'll see some WiiU games remastered, specially if the NX sells better than the U from the beginning.

The ones that will probably get a remaster are Zelda U and Xenoblade X (maybe SMTxFE and Fatal Frame too). Nintendo is going to put a lot of efford on their advertisement, and they will surely get a noticeable improvement on a stronger system.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
