Why quote me when you obviously didn't even read my post? 20% of 5 million is one million. Look at my last sentence and you'll also understand why most games on PS+ didn't reach those numbers.

Declaring a check mate doesn't make it true. ;)

I removed that sentence but it is finished. The game was downloaded that many times because it took off on Twitch and Youtube and word of mouth pushed it further. How many people are let's playing Rain compared to this game? It's a great game and that's why it's done better than most. Just accept it and move on.

I'm sorry, but if it was this simple than every great game should've sold great. Take a look at Okami, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, etc.

Why are people coming into this thread to argue, when they have zero interest with the game full stop? I'm surprised this gem of a game hasn't hit 10m+ let alone 5m. I've had some great fun on it with friends, and when a time comes that I see a Rocket league 2 launched, I and many, many others will not think twice about giving them our money.

He's not saying it's that simple, but he's saying it usn't as simple as just being free to get 5 million downloads...

He knows. It's not worth it anymore.

So you're going to deny that the majority of this game's sales came from the fact that it was free? Seems rather obvious to me when I take a look at the Steam sales.

I would like to know if there is any other indie indie ps+ game that reached that number. The number is easy to dismiss because of PS+ but I doubt that many other games have reached that mark.
And it's still 500k on PC, another mark most indies wish they would achieve. Wouldn't surprise me if the original didn't even have 100k downloads.

No? Did I say it would've done close to 5 million if it wasn't free? No I did not. Obviously it wouldn't have come close to those numbers as a paid title, but neither would it have reached 4.5 million had it been a bad/mediocre game. Agreed?

It would've been nice if you could answer to my last (real) reply to you, see what you have to say.

Most new games don't release on PS+ right from the bat though. This game also had a higher budget than your average indie game.

The game got a lot of media attention and worth of mouth because of the free promotion (and being good), that will have helped the PC version as well, no doubt.

It also helps that this is an online multiplayer game, that makes it more mainstream these days.

I love how "being good" is just a little parenthesis, even though it is the sole reason it's getting media attention, and why Sony picked it up as a PS+ title, and it's why it has so good word of mouth.

If you actually believe that then why aren't other great games for free on PS+?
