Just a reminder so haters actually consider possibilities based on evidence:

Executive producer Yuu Miyake also brought up the more practical, financial side of running a successful MMO. "One thing I can say," he said, "looking across the series from DQ8 onward, is that the business model of creating a retail package and releasing it exclusively on a single platform has become difficult to execute. Gamers' play styles and tastes are getting segmented, and we can't settle on a single platform.

Yeah, but it says MMO, and DQXI won't be a MMO... ("offline home console game") Error in the source?

That's a comment from 2013, soon after dragon quest X released. what matters is that he openly said that DQ exclusivity wasn't that viable anymore.

Looking at current numbers, if DQ 11 is for home consoles, neither wii u nor ps4 sales are enough to achieve huge numbers with exclusivity. But a multiplat DQ 11 between those two would probably be the best selling in the franchise, japan and globally.

It will be for PS3 + PS4 I think. Maybe PC too.

The PS3 still has an OK sized user base in Japan, that will make up for the fact that the PS4 currently has a small one.

OK, but right now, what is viable for DQXI, except PS4/PC? Wii U will be dead before the game release, Xbox One is a joke in Japan and not that good in the rest of the world (almost a joke in Europe, losing in US)... A home console AND portable console game would cost a lot more to develop (2 different versions), and they said home console game...

All they could do for a multiplat would be to announce a PS4 game, and keep the possibility for a NX version if the NX is powerful enough and successful enough to worth it. Or PS4 and PC game, but once again, it doesn't really work with their "home console game" statement...

EDIT : PS3 and PS4 would indeed be the safest bet for them.
