Why is it that there were "shortages" even though if you went to Best Buy/Amazon/Gamestop/etc.com, there was always full stock? Why is it that everyone here says there have always been Elites/Pros/Halo Editions at there local stores, to which you can only rebutt "that's only from your location" even though people from VGC are from ALL OVER THE WORLD?

I think there was a shortage, because there used to be only 1 xbox arcade console at my wal-mart, now there's  1 arcade, 2 premiums, and 2 elites.... while they've had the same ps3 for 6 months now.

It's taking a while for each region to get re-stocked, it's taken 1 1/2 months for mine  to get re-stocked, so why couldn't there be a shortage in some places?

Maybe you're just not paying very close attention. I heard of shortages weeks before MS said a word about not getting enough 360s to retailers in early 2008. It wasn't just one person, either. It was two or three different people a week on another forum I frequent. Initially, I didn't believe them so I checked the online inventory of Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target. Guess what? In the month of January, those four retailers were anywhere from 80 to 90% sold out the two times I checked.

This argument is getting so old.

I have a problem with MS's press release from Thursday saying that supply wouldn't be straightened out until April, when they just said March, and I can find 360s at every store imaginable. I don't see this shortage now. They weren't lying back in February, but they are now.

Agreed. The problem was solved a few weeks ago. If MS keeps bringing it up, they're just milking the situation for all its worth.
