it would be tricky to pull it off. the characters are from different game, so art style and size is already somewhat different. and I don't know how would the world looked like for a Smash warriors game.
Hyrule Warriors is fine since it is from the Zelda game. but for Smash, which one would you pick or how, you wanted to put a warriors game with different character designs to a campaign mode that is irrelevant to each other.
good idea, but it would be hard to properly execute it.

well smash bros did make the different art styles work, they could pull off a variation, also Tetra and king of the red lions is gonna be in hyrule warriors and they are from Windwaker wich is really cartoony, also Skyward sword and like say twilight princess are irrelevant to eachother but they still tied it in, in hyrule warriors.

but they are from Zelda. But what would be the world/universe for this warriors game.  Hence not sure how Nintendo can pull it off. But it is a great idea, knowing warriors franchise is good in Japan.  and would still sell like Hyrule in the west.

I like my idea of a Genei Ibun Roku #Smash Bros. better.

An RPG full of Ninformas from all their franchises with J-pop remixes from their most iconic themes, just imagine that.

Good idea, as long as the design artists get creative freedom to make all the Nintendo characters fit in.

I wouldn't sully the name of Super Smash Bros. by giving it the awful Warriors gameplay. Have some respect for quality please. This is like taking the name and location of a three star restaurant and offer MacDonalds food in it instead.

so you dislike hyrule warriors?

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, but it's made by a third party studio, so it's not taking much resources away from Nintendo. So I tolerate it I guess.

Eh, I dunno.

Outside of fighters, I feel that something like an action game with so many characters from already established franchises would be weird, as you'd have to incorparate all these themes and settings from several franchises, and it'd all kinda clash together.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I actually think a Fire Emblem Warriors is more likely, and I would prefer that.

ehm that is very weird, its a fantastic game

Think Smash Run from SSB 3DS, but in 3rd person!

And now you'll realize that this can totally work.

One challenge would be to get Warriors AI to be a bit less predictable. Other than that, the characters, items, and setting of Smash Bros work really well for a Warriors game. The other challenge would be Smash attacks themselves. But if you add some more ragdoll-type physics to knockback attacks of Warriors it would work fine.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I think a Smash style rpg would be better like how they crossed over Paper Mario and M&L.

That would be awsome too :)

With due respect to the OP, a Smash RPG should happen before a Smash and Dynasty Warriors crossover. I would love to enjoy choosing my favorite characters beat the tar out of bad guys, but the issue lies in with how to make the game contain high replay ability without making the game tedious. Said issue has been a problem for much of the Dynasty Warriors games (for me, 8 ended this).

With an RPG, the huge pool of characters throws a plethora of ideas into the mix. If anything, Sakurai and Monolith Soft could take a Smash RPG and pick up where Subspace ended in Brawl. That could make for a great game. Not only that, since each character has a finite set of skills, character types won't he that difficult to figure out.

Again, to the OP, the idea posted is rock solid. The issue mainly lies within replay ability for the game itself. Should there be a solution towards maintaining replay ability, I say go for it!
