Controllers have long been the input standard of choice for console games. Although they perform adequately in most scenarios, there are certain game genres where a keyboard and mouse would provide better quality of life to the experience. Up to this point current generation consoles haven't natively supported mouse input, but Microsoft is looking to change that.

The PS4 has since launch, though mouse (not keyboards) are limited to bluetooth connections.

That's an interesting addition.

Having more options is never a bad thing.

You can navigate menus on PS3/PS4 with keyboard and mouse, you can even play Warthunder on PS4 with mouse and keyboard (and for some reason control your character with WASD and attack on DC Universe with your keyboard) so I've always wondered why Sony never went the small step further and just enabled it for all games.

That's nice. But I didn't know the PS4 already had it so I'm disappointed MS is still behind with some features.

It up to dev mostly, if force them to enabled for all games, some of games will be ruined since not everyone got a keyboard for PS4.

It has it for certain games but not nativly supporting it. Was great on FFXIV as I found it almsot impossible to play it on a gamepad but from the OP sounds like MS want it to be supported for everything not just games a developer enables it on.

Why would some games be ruined? "Hey we made this for controller but you can use keyboard and mouse if you want" I fail to see the problem.

Ohhh, okay, then that's fine. MS has been pretty good this gen with features and support on the X1.
