why not? gears of war 1 was remastered this year, so its only fitting that gears of war 2 be remastered last year. the original gears was originally released in 2006, almost ten whole years ago (i know, time flies), so all the younger players who missed out on the original get to experience it. well, what if they want to see what happens in subsequent gears games? what if they skip out on gears of war 4 becuase they need to see what happens in gears of war 2 and 3 first? it can hurt the sales of the game. so this game at the very least needs to be remastered, and then maybe they can work on remastering gears 3.

 

I recently play through the Gears series again in May partly due to the expected Gears 4 reveal hype and partly due to starting to play the Xbox again after been mainly PS for the past few years and also made a new Xbox account for a fresh start. From my playthroughs Gears of War 1 actually felt "Old" compared to Gears of War 2. The updates to the gameplay of Gears 2 (Even if its Online was a failure) was so much smoother and better than the origional and I feel like anyone could go back and play Gears of War 2+ 3 without them feeling really old and that getting them on BC is all thats needed and is almsot 100% certains to happen.

On the general topic of what remasters for next year, Don't really have any I acutally "want" but I hope that if companies are planning to release remasters they go back to futher back than last gen.

Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System Remaster

That's really the only remaster I care about that is likely to happen as early as next year. All the other ones are pipe dreams so they're not worth mentioning.

Remaster... Mass effect trilogy. Same for Skyrim. I want versions of the games without loading times.

HD... Shenmue 1&2. I guess i can dream of Shining Force 3 collection to be released west. Actually, i would be fine if it was simply released on the 3DS. With Fire emblem's sucess, i just don't understand why Sega hasnt brought a proper strategy shining force back.

More for HD... Grandia 2 and 3. Would love to play those on the Vita aswell.

Star Ocean 3.
Rogue Galaxy.
Persona 3 (a definitive edition like P4G with all the advantages from both P3P and FES, maybe they could change the cutscenes with scenes from the movies).
Kingdom Hearts for PS4.

Those are the ones that came to my mind right now.
