Oh I get it now, people who thinks the game looks like trash aren't intelligent!

That is essentially the Itagaki defense. I'm amazed at people trying to voice such a contrary opinion to people that have actually tried the game. Nobody thinks the game controls well. Nobody thinks the game looks good. Nobody thinks the game runs well in general. Yet now people are trying to, I don't even know. The game looks bad. I don't care who made it, or the level of experience amongst the entire development team. This game has been in development for so long even a first time developer should have been able to turn out something at least halfway decent.

This is not a game you will need to play to acknowledge just how bad it is. I don't rely entirely on previews and reviews myself, but if a game is getting absolutely thrashed all around for being an incredibly poorly made game, I'm going to listen. If it was one or two people, that would be one thing, but I have not read one preview so far where anybody has legitimately praised Devil's Third for anything that's actually important to the overall experience. Playing oblivious and saying "you just need to play the game" speaks to a desired ignorance more than an open mind.

Who is absolutely thrashing it? Ive only seen two british idiots... And another british guy who has said both good and bad things about it. And Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze got a 6 from a reviewer at gamespot and a 9 by one at IGN I am just using that as an examble how views can differ a great deal and your own opinion is the only one that should matter to you. A 6 is bad review score and I liked that game.

Did you watch a single video and look at no other previews? None? Not any of these?

So the storie is atrocios, the gameplay is atrocious, the framerate is poor, it has graphics that are arguably on par with a ps3, and there's plotholes galore, but it's funny sometimes... Is that really what makes you want this game? Looks awful to me. I don't know how these two videos convinced you on it. It looks like it's trying to be Metal gear rising, but it does so horribly.

Here is the correct analysis from the footage:

Story is Ninja gaiden crazy style as expected.

Gameplay isnt atrocious. It doesnt have next-gen animations for sure but its trying something different. This is really impossible to judge without playing the game, but nothing that is see looks atrocious.

Framerate isnt always a constant 30fps and these are not final builds. Its not poor, but its not pristine either. Its very playable and hardly noticeable from the footage i saw.

Theres plotholes on alot of games by the dozen. Doesnt make them bad games. Depends on how seriously they are taking themselves. This games isnt taking itself seriously. Its meant to be a crazy fun game.

What makes me want this game is simply that it looks crazy fun to play. That is all.

This game is trying something new? To me, it just looks like a platinum copycat, except it doesn't do it well at all. Just, based on what I saw from the guy was that the bad very much so outweighed the good. And he said that the game went from near 60 fps to a near slideshow at points. If you take that as anything but terrible, I don't understand you.

Did you watch the two videos in the OP?  None of those things you raised were stuff he listed in the positives video in the OP.

Whereas the post you were responding to at least mirrored some of the points raised in the "bad things" video (i.e. inconsistent framerate; nonsensical story; some terrible graphics in places).

"A more intelligent look at Devils Third"

Like what because the other previewers are brainless?

Why are you looking at this black and white (i know monokuma... but still :P) ? If a frame drops 2 frames = automatically a bad game? Skyrim had FPS drops by the hundreads. Did anyone mention that?

Nonsensical story is just a criticism i reject. It does not infere with my enjoyment. Its a "modern" kind of criticism of young people who like to poke holes on everything and dont allow themselves to enjoy entertainment. Did you bring this up with Ninja Gaiden? Guy fighting with a sword against huge mythical beeings, a futuristic tokyo city and dinossaurs?

Yes, there are bad points and good points, but it doesnt mean that having bad points equals its unplayable, atrocious and impossible to enjoy.  I am not saying its the next coming of christ, but its certainly not worth this relentless criticism to the first game of a new developer. This is actually quite remarkable given the way they were constrained and they lost their publisher half way through development.

What were you expecting? What were people expecting? That is what i dont understand. Maybe because its Itagaki and we got used to great Ninja Gaiden games with top graphics and Nintendo that this whole thing is blowing up. This game is exactly what was sensible to expect. This isnt something developed under Nintendo funding with an experienced team on the Wii U since the start. Its a smaller scale project of a smaller team. Its a great game when you take that into account. This isnt a triple A american multi-million dollar game.

So I'm guessing from this response that the answer to "did you watch the two videos in the OP" is "no".

Things like the story are addressed in the OP, where the reviewer says that you're barely given any more story than bullet points and the odd voiceover telling you where to go.  That's not Ninja-Gaiden-esque storytelling.  That's rubbish storytelling.

That's all I'm bringing you up on.  We've had so many threads going back and forth lately with one group of people saying "this looks crap!" and another group saying "xyz doesn't mean it's a bad game!"  Both sides of which I'm sure hold some merit.  But you're quoting someone who picked up on some of the points raised in the videos of the OP and then go off on a tangent about a load of other things.
