Ok so now that the kickstarter is over and this game has received quite a bit of funding does this mean that the money that Sony is going to put forward will go towards the other goals because they look pretty crucial to the game?

Sony is only paying for marketing and the PS4 port. They are not paying for the development of the game in anyway.

Yup, seriously. The message got confusing and messy after some journalists and fanboys started to throw their 2 pence in, YS and Sony have both made clear statements that Sony will only be helping with the marketing and PS4 port.

Yu Suzuki said during closing livestream that funding will continue via PayPal so there's a chance that the other stretch goals will be met.

It's only made $6.3m. A game like Shenmue will probably need at least $50m to make.

Never understood why it needed so much money. It looks like a fairly simple game.

The Witcher 3 cost 32m to create. If Shenmue 3 takes 100m then someone did budgeting in a very piss poor manner.
