Forums - Gaming - STEALTH RELEASE: Prototype 1 and 2 HD come out on PS4 and Xbox One

I wonder if this is just a vanity project or something taken on my someone at Radical Entertainment that said they could port the games on a shoestring budget, so were given the go ahead.

I played the PS3 version, and was somewhat enjoying it, but I encountered a bug which literally stopped me from progressing any further (mission objective wouldn't respawn, restarting mission/console did not fix it) so I may pick up PS4 version to give it another go down the line if this is fixed.

Around the Network

There are only 2 types of remasters that I will tolerate. HD collections that come with more than one game like Uncharted Collection and complete remakes like FFVII Remake. This is obviously just a cash grab.

what an odd game to remaster. wasn't much of a hit the first time around.

Actually, that makes it a good choice for a remaster. Games that didn't peform as expected the first time around have a great opportunity to be more successful with a re-release. It will generate some interest in the game again, will definitely pick up a few extra sales, and considering the relatively cheap cost of porting it will likely make some money as well. The more successful remasters may even end up spawning the sequel that they had always intended but never saw enough success to warrant investment in.

To me at least remastering unsuccessful/forgotten games makes much more sense than the big games that most people have already played.

disagree.

A) i'll bet a majority of remaster sales are from double dippers.

B) those that buy a remaster that are new to the games probably heard of the game via positive word of mouth but didn't have the right system at the time.   remastering halo/uncharted/zelda makes sense.   remastering bad game does not.
