Actually, that makes it a good choice for a remaster. Games that didn't peform as expected the first time around have a great opportunity to be more successful with a re-release. It will generate some interest in the game again, will definitely pick up a few extra sales, and considering the relatively cheap cost of porting it will likely make some money as well. The more successful remasters may even end up spawning the sequel that they had always intended but never saw enough success to warrant investment in. To me at least remastering unsuccessful/forgotten games makes much more sense than the big games that most people have already played. |
disagree.
A) i'll bet a majority of remaster sales are from double dippers.
B) those that buy a remaster that are new to the games probably heard of the game via positive word of mouth but didn't have the right system at the time. remastering halo/uncharted/zelda makes sense. remastering bad game does not.
