it seems that FFxv will play a very important role at gamescom 2015, many new things of the game will be shown, but could it be that SE will finally reveal a release date of the game? SE announced many games in last time, but it means nothing without knowing when the games will be released. But somehow i have the feeling SE will surprise the people with the long awaited release date of FFxv...what do you think? Would it be the perfect time to announce it or will we have to wait till tgs 2015 or even longer?

It's possible. I just hope that when we do get a date, it's definitive like Fallout 4 was.

Now that Square has FFVII Remake to be relayed the responsibility of creating uncertainty amongst fans and a game to keep in development hell for Square, FFXV can finally have it's release date.

Of course they will, they'll just say October 25th 2018. :)

I think so, they said they skipped E3 so that they can have a big reveal/announcement at a later date when said thing was ready. I believe it was either a release date, an epic set piece they want to demo or a CG for a new trailer.

Hoping its a release date and although December seems a pipe dream, that would be such a megaton. A spring 2016 release seems most likely, athough that period is now a clusterf*ck of AAA titles.

I don't know if it will get a launch date, but they will officially start their Final Fantasy XV marketing campaign at gamescom.

If its a worldwide release which is what they've been moving towards (FFXIII was 3months), I think they could very well announce it in Europe.
