Maybe we need education. In my opinion changing laws can only change the form of the crime, but the only way to stop the thought of the crime is through eduction. Make it so that people are just and intelligent enough to not even think about committing a crime or have them have the mental fortitude to be able to control any vile thoughts.

never going to happen and trying to reach a utopia is only going to cause more suffering

So... With these shootings happening Sadly too many times in the US.. How many times was the killer shot down by an average Joe who had a gun?

There are about 2 million defensive gun uses each year

I'd like to see some actual statistics for cases where a civilian with a concealed was actually able to use said weapon in a justifiable scenario versus the number of injuries/deaths due to accidents and irresponsible gun ownership.

I would never feel comfortable carrying it in my purse to places like work and even if I did, I would likely never have enough training to ever be able to use if effectively in a scenario where it's viable. The chance of me injuring myself or someone else by accident is probably way higher than me ever having the opportunity to use it to protect anyone.

Arming the general populace with a lethal weapon that most don't know how to handle responsibly sounds like a terrible idea.

Just a thought how about protect the structure with bulletproof glass and a guard to check everyone on the way in. Problem would be solved? Military locations for better or worse are going to be some sort of a target these days how about we treat them as such.

EVERY GAMERS WORST NIGHTMARE...THE TANGLING CABLES MONSTER!

       Coffee is for closers!

if all guns are taken away from everybody then those who want to harm others will seek out other ways to do so

the very simple point that many people fail to understand is that the problem here is not the weapon used to cause harm.. it is the intent to cause harm that is the problem

and good luck on stopping people from wanting to harm each other given the right circumstances... imo unless we are all chipped with devices to control our impulses through the transhumanism concept ( essentially meaning we will cease to be human ) its not ever going to happen

we live in an imperfect world, if you want heaven grab a bible and go to church and pray that at your death you will be allowed through the great pearly white gates

?  They don't just let some idiot who doesn't know how to use one have a license to carry it.  You need to do training first.  We already are aiming the general populace with guns in tons of areas and have been for awhile now.

according to Kleck and Gertz, who say over 95% of those weren't reported to officials - so how do come they have enough data to estimate that huge volume of unreported defensive gun uses?

the reality is that criminal gun uses outnumber defensive gun uses - that's by hard numbers and not fairytales

Well no shit.  But are the criminal uses for people with a licensed gun and for those who are licensed to carry? No.

If there were no guns, that'd be dope, but its not how it works.  This was an act of terrorism and people feel very strongly that a gun free zone is a joke.

as I implied in my first post, have all the guns you want anywhere you want in america - it's your right to decide that and I don't care

I just won't let anyone try to justify it with pro-gun propaganda pieces that a 12 year old can identify as such
