Forums - General - Do classics games available for download cheapen them or enrich them?

well.....it can do both
it cheapens it when you play games originally designed for use with other controllers

it gives it value as it revives legendary games that new gamers may have never played before

Around the Network

Depends how well the game has held up over time, and if the new version does the game justice.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

They certainly do cheapen the old games. Before Paper Mario 64 came out on the VC, you could get a solid $30 out of it on E-bay, now you're lucky if you get 15 out of it.

Oh right, that isn't what you meant. :p

Know what I learned? Those old school games are damn hard!! I had never made it through Super Mario in it's day and now I can't get though Sonic, Bonk, or Bomberman as well. lol. Games today are too easy in comparison.

I do love the arcade games on my VC though, galaga, Pac-man, Donkey kong, etc. Never get tired of those and glad to have them so accessable again. Also my son loves having some of his N64 games again.

Some games just do not age well. Others are there to remind us that they will never look dated. Examples: Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Megaman 2.
