The younger one still likes the WiiU, anything Mario and Lego and Toy story 3 on ps3. They would be most happy with another iPad, not gonna happen. They are spoiled enough. I don't think they would be unhappy about a WiiU if we didn't have one already. They love the gamepad. They can play any time and watch their own shows on it. I love it too that they can't take it into their room. |
I've forbidden my kids to even ask me about MC mods anymore - there's only so much you can put together until it all starts to fall, and there's no end to their persistance in finding new mods. Luckily, my wife doesn't allow them to use her rig, so at least I have to worry only about one computer.
Now they've rediscovered Spore (they haven't played that in at least 2 years), so they're pestering me about mods for that.
Of course, I get questions like "when we're buying another computer so we can play MC together?" almost on daily bases.

Yes, I should have thought it through a little better. On PC it's 90% picking mods, waiting for downloads, reinstalls, trying to get it to run, play for 5 to 10 minutes and then the whole process starts over again. On PS4 they actually play together, build stuff and act out their fantasies in splitscreen. On PC it's how does this work, I can't morph, it crashed again, why does it take so long to load, what else can I play. Exhausting.
I should have known better. There were no mods when I was 6 (nor PCs to run them on lol) yet before my wife and I had kids, our friend's kids used to come over to play lan Unreal tournament. It was no different with them, always selecting characters and different modes and levels. Same in racing games, the car select screen got the most attention, it drove me crazy. Are you actually going to play or just browse stuff.
