Sounds sweat. My main gripe with the Witcher 3 is that you're pretty much forced to play a warrior in the begining and maybe warrior+ as you get deeper into the game. I prefer stealth and I love archery.

That is what you are in Witcher - try fighting Wraiths or pack of nekkers with stealth and archery.

The similarities to games like The Witcher and Shadow of Mordor or even Fallout: New Vegas are probably because John Gonzalez, the narrative designer and general writer for all of those titles has been working at Guerrilla Games since September 2013 as the lead Writer, so he joined the studio around when the big Team of developers.

He was lead writer on New Vegas, lead narrative designer on SoM, but has nothing to do with Witcher.

Yeah I made a mistake there.

There are developers that worked on The Witcher (guys from CD Projekt Red) who are now a part of the team making Horizon, that's what I meant to say, details got mixed up in my brain. ;)

You're right John wasn't a part of CDPR and didn't have anything to do with developing The Witcher.

I know Guerilla are very hit and miss, but this concept (and the little footage we've seen so far) looks awesome!

High hopes!

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Ahh man, they should have made it where we get to create our own main characters, that red hair girl is lame

Some kind of online interaction tend to detract alot from imersive RPGs, even when theyre tacked on bulcrap like the Mass Effect multiplayer. The only imersive RPG I played so far that managed to have multiplayer and make it actualy add to the experience was the Souls series. Lets hope Horizon can do it too, Id prefer this was 100% ofline tough.

Someone who worked on quest design for CDPR is in the Horizon team, Im not sure if it is the lead quest designer from Witcher 3 or someone else, but its a quest design guy.

Sounds interesting, but i'm still missing a story component to be completely sold on it. There has to be a reason for all this mech-dinossaur hunting.

Of course there is:

“In Japan, the giant monster hunting action genre seems to be popular, so if people ask us whether we’ve been influenced by a particular title, I tell them frankly that we’ve gotten inspiration from Monster Hunter.”

And crossbow is, of course, Katniss.

He sees that as a negative and I would too ...

Personally speaking though I'm not feeling this game the same way you are and much like it, I'd prefer the protagonist to be silent ...

So how big will this open world be?

Small- infamous, Batman
Medium- GTA, Fallout 3 (and NV)
Large- Skyrim, Witcher 3

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

So they live in a world with robo dinos, and they're most advanced weapons are explosive arrows? How did they survive?

they didn't survive. Most of humans were killed, and others probably hide into caverns.
