How is it a waste though? That tells me nothing. Games are being made

Yeah - the same franchises over and over again because they do not want to spend money to take risks. Also, what the last big game MS released?

Yea what DJEVOLVE wrote. Scalebound, ReCore and Quantum Break are MS IP if I'm not mistaken. They're making games. Now, how is Minecraft a failure?

Minecraft is a waste not even a year into the investment?

Think of all the games that could have been made for $2B. Such a waste.

Minecraft is huge. No only will you make money from the franchise (including merchandise) but it will shift hardware if used in the right way. Like thesting says, it's a year in and MS will have a long term plan, they will of weighed it up. People that make these decisions aren't idiots.

Forza 5, Sunset overdrive, Halo Mcc, World of Tanks (July 28th), Titanfall, deadrising 3.. Coming games, Rise of the Tomb Raider,  Gears, Halo 5 Gardians, Forza 6, Rare 30, Fable Legends. 100 Backwards compatible games(will be making a new games list for both consoles since Indie's are all the buzz, Once Xbox one has BC, Those threads will not be so popular) That's all this year. Quantum Break,  gears 4, Scalebound, Crackdown, Phantum dust, unannounced rare game.

Plenty of games, What games does PS4 have they are taking major risks on. however buying a massive phone bizz is taking a major risk by the way.

Having to go back quite a few years, I see. And we're counting timed exclusives too? And games that haven't released yet? Let me answer the question - we have to go back to.. last year.

Sony, we all know, takes a lot of risks.

why cant the EU not sue MS and why is the european media and public looking away all of the sudden? first they buy a european Brand for smartphones and then they lay off the people in Finland.
Werent people in europe upset when BenQ did the same thing with buying up SIEMENSs phone division and laying people off? So people/media give US companies a free pass here?

When you buy something you should be able to do whatever the heck you want with it. Can I not buy a console and sledgehammer it on video without getting sued now? So should a company be able to PAY MONEY to OWN something and wreck if they want to.

do peoples lives are equal to plastic?

There are national rules, but their politicians dont care.

So ownership is meaningless in Europe? You can buy something and have politicians tell you what you can do with it? Ridiculous system. If you want job security, don't get a job.

How was Skype a waste of money?

$8 billion for a free video calling service doesn't seem like a very good business decision to me.

Google is free. Facebook is free. Twitter is free. Might as well not pay billions for anything that isn't a front sale.

Aren't some of those games risks like Scalebound since Microsoft are spending money on those? I see plenty of diverse games Microsoft is spending and risking.

We don't know what Scalebound looks like. What other diverse games is MS spending on?

When you update me at gamescom, then you can invalidate my argument. In the meantime, we got a year of MS not releasing any first party game.
