[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

They probably won't. But maybe in a couple of years? Wii's line I budget titles were released quite late in its lifespan.

Probably not.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

No because I think Nintendo is a bit more greedy from the time they had that program, so unless it is all done on the eShop, I think the idea of them having to repackage any of their games is enough to scare them away from that.

They probably won't but I wouldn't mind seeing it happen

I think so. They have done it every generation as far as I know, so this gen won`t be any different.

I hope so but it really doesn't affect me, I buy every Nintendo game on day 1 anyway XD.

I hope so. I got many GameCube classics for $20 like F-Zero, both Pikmin, and Luigi Mansion. I also got Soul Caliber II, Metroid Prime, and Windwaker for $9.99 each from a Mom and Pop game shop at one Holiday season since they were player's choice titles. The Metroid Prime 1 game even came with a Echos demo disc as well!

But wouldn't you say that it is mostly used as a promotional tool for kids in a store that are told they could buy a game. You see the Nintendo Selects / Players Choice and it's supposed to signify that it is the game you should pick up. What other purposes do the stickers have?

Well the program serves to bring back old games (some that have gone out of print) at reduced prices in order to increase interest and sales of said games.

For example, this would be a great thing to do with Pikmin 3 since it isn't really being stocked anymore and prices are ridiculously high online. Releasing it as a Nintendo Select at like $20-30 would no doubt increase the sales of the game and be more tempting to buyers as a whole (even the re-releases of Pikmin 1 and 2 on the Wii did well).

I see, not a bad idea. It would also pretty much force down the prices of the games currently in stores. Consumers and Nintendo would ultimately win. I'm not sure how big of an impact it would have, but it's a good idea.
