Nice, it's always good to appreciate tons of different stuff. I also love Linkin Park! I've been listening to them since Meteora (when I was just 9 - I miss that time so much .-.), my 2nd favorite album from them. But I don't think most people consider them metal.

Yeah, that's the main reason why I didn't put them in the original problem. The same with Porcupine Tree. In fact, I like almost all types of music, a lot of it probably due to video games having very diverse ranges of music.

Yeah, personally I listen to certain types of music depending on the time of year. For me, extreme metal is during the Winter, hard rock/lighter metal is during the Summer, and video game music/ambient/electonic is when it's generally Spring/Fall. Although those are just generalizations.

Is that so? I sort of listening to music depending on mood, the mood I have to listen to things. Sometimes I want sing-along songs so I go for Power Metal/Pop Music/Ballads, sometimes I want fast stuff so I go for Thrash, Punk/Hardcore. And sometimes I want Brutal so I go for Brutal stuff.

Sometimes when I listen to some of the above I feel like I got my fill and then I can listen to something else. I could spend hours listening to music now that I have opened myself to different kinds of music.

Cemetery gates is one of my favourite song of all time <3. I listen to most genres of metal, though I sometimes go through phases of listening to different sub-genres like metalcore or glam. Atm I am listening to lots of skid row (with bach), metallica, trivium, killswitch engage, motley crue, def leppard and a scottish parody power metal band called gloryhammer who are fucking awesome.
