yea, I absolutely loved the first 6 albums of Nightwish, the newer stuff without Tarja is still good, but it just doesn't grab me as much anymore

I can't say I really follow any other group in the metal genre, but I do love certain songs from Metallica (Master of Puppets, Battery, Nothing else matters, Enter Sandman), Iron Maiden (Fear of the Dark, Run for the Hills), Avenged Sevenfold (Afterlife, Beast and the Harlot, Almost Easy), System of a Down (Toxicity, Chop Suey), Dream Theater (Panic Attack), Sonata Arctica (Replica, Flag in the Ground, Black Sheep, False News Travel Fast), Evanescence (Bring me to Life, My Immortal), Blind Guardian (The Bard's Song) and many more

"Normally, most of the B-teams of the DC Universe should have no problem with either Goku or any other SSJ out there, Gotenks and Vegito included. I think Black Adam would be enough, easily, to end them both. Maybe Booster Gold, if he could stop being a fuck up for a while."

I thought the video was part of Demolition Racer. But who knows, they were in several videogames some years ago.

It could have been featured somewhere else though, like you say.

Love me some metal. I like some stuff that's a little more off the wall though. Bands like Dog Fashion Disco, Stolen Babies, Shaolin Death Squad, etc. I do love more normal and classic metal as well, like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Anthrax, Baroness, Summoner, Elephant Tree, etc.

Metal is my world!! I go to summerbreeze Metalfestival tomorrow in germany :D

Zelda - Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.... Incredable!!!

I love many genres of music, including classical, acoustic/folk, classic rock, grunge/alternative, some hip-hop, chip tunes, etc.

But yes, I love me some heavy metal. My fav. band of all time is Metallica, and in general my fav. kind of metal is 80s thrash, with bands like Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Death Angel, Heathen, Forbidden, Annihilator, Flotsam & Jetsam, etc. Evile is a really good modern thrash style band from the UK that I like as well. Their early albums sounded very Slayer-esque, but their last couple albums, they've really progressed and expanded their sound and capabilities. They're definitely worth a look.

I like a lot of more classic style heavy metal too, like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Warlord, Dio, Mercyful Fate, etc.

In general, I don't really love many so-called "extreme metal" bands. There are some bands with some screamy-ness that I like or can stand, but in general I don't really go in for the "super gore and satanic" themes nor the death/black/screamo style vocals. I do like some bands like Trivium, that utilize screaming, but I prefer they didn't. I'm really into Opeth, but I must admit I like their albums from Blackwater Park onward, and really dig their progressive lean over the last few albums, pretty much abandoning their old Death Metal sound. I still LIKE some of it, mind you, I think that Ghost Reveries is a fantastic album. But in general I really like the prog rock direction they've gone in also. I also really dig Sepultura, and like Derrick Green as a singer, but just haven't been as into their last few albums as I was into Nation (bad ass album) and it's follow ups Roorback and Dante XXI, from the early 2000s.

Other metal bands I like are varied: Sevendust, Ra, Machine Head, Acrassicauda, Alter Bridge, Iced Earth (w/ Matt Barlow as singer, at least), Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Powerglove, Corrosion of Conformity, Pantera, Fear Factory, Fozzy, Linkin Park, Ozzy, Nevermore, Psychostick, Slipknot (some songs), Disturbed (same), System of a Down, Teramaze (at least for two albums with the good singer), White/Rob Zombie, Tool (not quite metal, but whatever), Diecast, older Creed, etc.

So yeah. I like metal. A lot actually. It just all depends. I tend to gravitate towards bands that have more of a unique sound, for one, because there are SO many bands that are either like Cannibal Corpse clones, or Judas Priest clones, on those ends of the spectrum, or a thousand "scream and then sing pretty" bands as well from the newer "mallcore" era. All the labels get old. I just like music an bands that I think sound good. And as a writer, I also tend to gravitate towards songs with good lyrical writing, and lyrical content I can identify with.

Phantom of the Opera cover they did cranked up is one of my favorites, along with Over the Hills and Ghost love Score.

The Smithsonian Institution has included Slayer as part of their "Places of Musical Innovation" video series with a mini-documentary at its National Museum of History.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLvVdjRFRqs

The nearly six-minute clip is called “Slayer and the Origins of Thrash.” The band is representative of the thrash movement of metal that formed in the 1980s. Original vocalist/bassist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, as well as drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt, appear in the video. They comment on the musical motives behind Slayer’s formation and the early days of the thrash scene.

It is a pitty that Jeff Hanneman and Dave Lombardo couldn't be part of this.

The Smithsonian Institution, established in 1846 "for the increase and diffusion of knowledge," is a group of museums and research centers administered by the Government of the United States.

Slayer is officially an American institution! :D
