Forums - Nintendo - Wii homebrew makes another stride

I'm sure if there are only a few copies of the original twilight princess available, and if modders want to obtain the old twilight princess, then it'll only be a matter of downloading it on the net via torrents and such. If it's modded then it can play burnt games. So duplicating the buggy game should work, correct?

Around the Network

Team Twiizers has been responsible for most of the wii homebrew jump in the last 2 weeks and they have said that they will NOT make a Iso loader... sooner or later someone else will release one... but alot of the people making homebrew on the wii don't seem interested in making one. id imagine for legal reasons, on another note i think we will see some very cool stuff coming out of the wii homebrew scene

I think you guys are overestimating the importance of this ...

The nature of this exploit is far too limited to have much of a widespread appeal for homebrew development; until hackers can directly boot unsigned code without a hardware modification it is (mostly) and academic pursuit.

That doesn't matter. Homebrew has never been about gaining widespread appeal, it's about unlocking the hardware and having fun.  The type of people who enjoy homebrew are exactly the type who won't worry about modifying their Wii.

Piracy, of course, is a different scenario, but that's not what this is about.
