That doesn't matter. Homebrew has never been about gaining widespread appeal, it's about unlocking the hardware and having fun. The type of people who enjoy homebrew are exactly the type who won't worry about modifying their Wii.
Piracy, of course, is a different scenario, but that's not what this is about.
