Forums - General - Who is the most famous person from your town/city

I'm from a tiny town in Pennsylvania, the only semi-famous person is John Woodruff, a black man who won a gold medal at the 1936 Olympics. He was kinda overshadowed by Jesse Owens.

The most famous person from my county was George Marshall.

Try this guy for size.

Considering I live in a rather small town (about 10,000 now, but it used to be much smaller) it's quite impressive)

Other than Patrick Stewart, all we have is the grave of Robin Hood.

He wasn't actually born in my town but Stan Laurel is associated most with Bishop Auckland, the town I live in! :)

Rick James from Buffalo NY
