no drug is harmless.......you can become an addict just like any other drug

 LoL "addict"

Theres no such thing as a marijuana addict. There are burnouts, but realize they are intentionally just putting their lives in a haze for various reasons. It has nothing to do with an actual addiction.

These two drug related topics up in this forum right now really make me wonder how bad you all have been living under a rock.

Marijuana can be addicting and there are such people as Marijuana addicts. There are programs in Rehab centres for people who are addicted specifically to marijuana. Though it is not physically addicting, you can become mentally addicted to it. If you used to smoke pot to get you high, that is not addictive. But if you smoke pot to get you normal and you think you can't live without it, then there's an addiction. Not to mention, marijuana acts as a "gate-way drug" that can potentially lead to much dangerous drugs.

I try make myself wait at least 3 hours for each cigarette, so it ends up being at most half a pack a day. If I make myself space it out any more than that I start getting... unpleasant. I give myself rules to keep it under control. Like I do not allow myself to chain-smoke. Ever.

As odd as this may sound.

On my last trip to the Pocono's I stopped at a smoke shop and discovered these mini filtered cigars called Dean's. A carton runs you about $14 with shipping and tax. Anyways, they are prodominantly all natural tobacco and while I did smoke just as much when I started, after a couple of months I found myself not craving nicotine as much, even though they do contain nicotine although only what is naturally in it. I never actually feel the need to smoke, it is more of a mental thing now as sometimes I would think about smoking as I would be bored or drinking.

I enjoy it more now as I can go a week or so without one and it does not make me feel sick at all. Like I did with pot, I am stopping for a while because of the coming birth of my neice and dropping the habit so far has gone amazingly well. 1 week now.

I like them alot since they come in all different flavors ranging from all natural and menthol for the cigarette lovers to chocolate for me. :)

Yeah the only reason why I can go for 3 hours plus without one is because I switched to american spirits a while ago. They satisfy the craving for longer. If you smoke camels or marbs or whatever you end up wanting another one as soon as you finish one. And all of you who keep pushing the marijuana addiction thing I think you are just falling for alot of propaganda bullshit. Not a gateway drug. Its just the first thing considered a "drug" alot of kids get ahold of. If the kid is offered blow first the kids gonna start on blow. It doesn't matter what the drug is if its just some kid who wants to experiment with stuff.

I remember getting in trouble for selling candy and gum back when I was in school - oooohhhh, sugar, better give him detention.

I heard about a kid who got either suspended or expelled cuz he sold a fellow student a pack of skittles... Stupid gov'ment rules...

@ the marijuana topic: I agree with Meso. I have seen what people who do drugs end up like... It isn't a pretty picture. Eventually if a person wears the effects of marijuana thin because he/she does it too much, then they will look to another drug to get them a better high. This is why marijuana is called a so-called "gateway drug" and as such could be considered one of the most dangerous drugs out there. It invites people in and will allow their thinking to accept it more and more... it always ends badly for people who need more...
