Who cares about having 1-2 years worth of third party support followed by virtually nothing? They either need to totally forget about third party (hybrid console allowing Nintendo to use all developers to publish for one device, increasing amount of games per device drastically) or get something that is so ridiculously powerful that the ps5 and xbox two will be just as powerful when they launch (but that would make the NX cost like 600-700 which would be insane lol). |
Well if you read my OP again you'll see that I didn't say "little more powerful than Xbone/PS4". If it's a standard console and releases 4 years after the Xbone/PS4 then it could be a lot more powerful. Even if the PS5/Xbox2 release 2 years later there wouldn't be a substantial power gap like WiiU - PS4/Xbone.
This is definitely a great post. I'm sick of seeing the "Nintendo is DOOMED" threads everywhere.
What i feel is most important is their games, and that includes 3rd parties. Nintendo screwed up by completely ignoring 3rd parties this gen. I don't know too much about console power and the terms you used (I really need to read up about it) but it seems that this x86 thingy is a good route. I can imagine that they can do system transfers via the Nintendo network? I dunno but either way they need 3rd parties to make games if they want to regain the trust of gamers after this E3. They also need to make some huge launch titles like Zelda, 3d Mario, Pokemon, ect. I hope Nintendo can find a way to appeal to both gamers and companies because right now they don't have either of them.
And now watch them announce the NX being a tablet to play their mobile games LOL.
