OT: It's so sad that the parents complete ignorance of human races and history will be pushed on their kids. I can only hope that as the kids get older they realize the ignorance behind their parents teachings.

 There would only be a race war in the U.S., it is by far the most diverse country in the world. I take it back, there would probably be a race war in South Africa and the Middle East too.

I really hate this kinda thing, so I'll refrain from watching the video/clicking on od's link. Some things I don't understand about people.

1) Race - All humans belong to one race. This is not some sort of philosophical statment - scientifically all humans exist as part of one race.

2) I've never understood why people have problems with black people. As I understand it, there is still a hatred for blacks in America, specifically in the South? Can anyone living there tell me what people say down there, how they feel, etc? They have black skin - that's the only difference to me.

3) Jews. Same as above, in the sense I don't understand why. Finances, sure.......but there were plenty of other rich white Catholics/Protestants, yes?

4) Expanding on this, foreigners/immigration. Why again exactly all the hate? Like other people have said, if you were born in North America, most likely your ancestors have immigrated here.

I've been subject to racism, especially since 9/11. I can't say I understand it, and I certainly do not care for it.

 They are portrayed as brown with dark hair and eyes because that is the current Italian people look like, the current inhabitants are not Roman but rather a race that is a mix of the Romans and the locals that came about after the fall of Rome. The reason the Roman people weren't of that colouring is that they actually migrated from further North at some point.

Why on earth does being ethnically diverse make for a race war, especially in the time when racial discrimination is less than it was 50 years ago?
