Mine used to look exactly like me, but then I grew a beard. I keep it pretty short and neat, but the only options on the Mii Channel are a "five o'clock shadow" and XBOX HUEG.

Not at all. It's impossible to get your Miis to look like 14 year olds. I made one for my friend, and that was even worse. My father looks exactly the same though.

But when you look like this:
