Rumors on GAF says it will have a new translation ;)

The steam translation is terrible.

Day zero now.

If this was Final Fantasy IX I would get it and platinum it.

Wow, throphies support? Do we really need a Remake after this?

Yes.

Remake will be a way different game ;)

People are starting to think the remake is gonna be an ARPG. (I'm betting its gonna be Crysis Core style + FF12 AI style combat).

I'm thinking a modified FFXV system will be used, but at the same time, I need to see the fully finished battle system in action before I can judge. The demo is neat, but I don't feel like it had all the features the battle system would have in the final product.

I could quasi see SE porting over 8 and 9 in the same method they are doing this PC port. But you won't see remasters of those 2 games...

8 yes, 9 not as much. 9 was never a PC game like 7 and 8. I hope they eventually do, but I won't exactly hold my breath.

Well it would be classic Square Enix to ruin a once great game...

You didn't like FF7:CC?

Thats just it. If this 7 with trophy support sells -- they'll see reason to port the other two over.

IMO 9 is more likely because they could double dip by doing a PC port at the same time.

I just hope that Sony blocks those games from making it to XB1. The more they can diversify themselves from XB1 the better.

See, I'm seeing this viewpoint a lot, and I don't get it. The battle system is not what made FF7. The characters and story are what made FF7. The battle system was probably the worst part of the original experience, being slow and bothersome even compared to its 2D counterparts. It isn't as if SE has said they're going to remove materia. It isn't like they said they're removing summons. You'll still be able to customize your characters abilities and the like regardless of what they choose to do with the battle system. What is wrong with making it into a more involved experience over the unnecessary and archaic turn based system that barely even has a place on handhelds anymore?

I question how they think they are doing all this. It's very simple, do what you want with running around areas, dialogue etc but the main gameplay, the thing that defines FF7 (and main FF games from the rest of the shite), don't change. Is it so hard to create Cloud running alone a path towards the Nibelheim reactor and that to be new flashy 3d graphics but the battles to still be turn based in a self contained random arena... also is shiny new 3d graphics?

Hmm, pie.

That archaic turned based system is what defines the FF series, it is it's main gameplay feature. The stable on which all FF games gameplay was done. Why do you think many do not consider the new FF games good?

Hmm, pie.
