Nice that it's all matte now as I didn't like the glossy/matte combo before and I love that it'll be available in glacier.

I'm betting a 1TB version at 399 by Christmas and the 500GB to be cut to 349. That would be amazing.

Cool, wonder if the original model will get a price cut now.. probably not but still hopeful :p

| Yerm said: seems like a wasted update. they could have redesigned the hardware and cut the price down to make the console more enticing to buy. imagine having a $349 or even $299 PS4 on the market. on the bright side, im glad they got rid of the shiny plastic because nobody wants it anymore. its just a fingerprint collector. but yeah, im still not buying one. The Xbox One seems a bit more appealing now |
Not trying to be noesey but how does THIS make the XB1 seem more appealing now????

And less noisy overall." - Kinan
Even if this isnt as good as a new "slim" version would have been, the fact that its alot less noisy, and it uses less power, still makes for a decent update to the PS4.

Yeah pretty silly comment. It uses less power and is quieter, but apparently that makes the XBO more appealing....lol

The physical buttons should have been there from day one. If I had any complaint about my system, it's the occasional auto disk eject stupidity (happened I think three times since launch), all due to the electrostatic sensors in lieu of buttons. Considering how shit the power is in my house, lesser power consumption would be good, too.
I think the fact that its useing 20-30w less while gameing is a kinda nice bonus...
The real steal from this is the new mechanical buttons (so you dont turn on/turn off, eject disc trays ect, without meaning too).
That and the fact that its been made alot less noisy.
