Well I'm pretty sure I can't do that xS

Now, if it's going to be flexible it sounds more like a extra model rather than a standart model, that would have a common price point.

You could be right. It's no accident that Sony have announced these now just after 3 bombshells at E3. Pretty clever move if you ask me.

The move is pretty nice, but announcing the new model with price at the e3 press conference would have been better IMO.

Still some great news. Expecting price drop on 500GB model by the holyday.

I imagine they skipped out on announcing any of the PS4 upgrades at E3 just because their launch windows are odd. I mean, the 1TB is launching in Europe next month with currently no word of the US launch. The newest model that was just announced is starting out in Japan at the end of this month and just has the ambigious "it's coming later" for the rest of the world. Not to mention there isn't even a suggested price for the 1TB model. All in all, I don't think Sony was ready to announce at E3 because they didn't have enough information for US releases. It still doesn't seem like they know when anything is coming to the US, really. We just know the new are leaving Japan for one and Europe for the other, um, eventually for the new, and probably eventually for the 1TB.

Announcing a price cut kills momentum until the actual launch. In terms of the US... they need to pull an Apple and launch immediate.... or within a week.

One might think that would've been something for the press conference.

It would have been pointless with the The Last Guardian, FF7, Shenmue 3 and Horizon showing. Any news other than that only takes away from the hype. This rides on the back of the hype rather than adding to what was already the biggest hype they could possibly get.

The PS5 Exists.

So now we have to choose betwen The Last of Us or +500 Go for free?

It's not just a larger HDD:
The new PS4 is 10 per cent lighter than the original model, and it consumes 8 per cent less power.

Also:
The new console will launch in Japan at the end of this month, before rolling out to North America, Europe and other global regions shortly after.

The 1TB will be launching with the current hardware, not the new stuff. Notice in the picture the top still has a glossy HDD cover.

It's still really early in the US (not even 5:30am at the latest), so it could still be announced on the US PS Blog today. Gotta remember that it's much later in the morning for Europe right now.

i hope so

scee and scea are two "different" companies. maybe it won't relase at all. and they will go for a different 1tb sku later
because this 1tb seems to be the old one, without the internal tweaks and a glossy finish.

Well mine is Super ultimate with its 2tb.
