Some of my most anticipated games like Watch Dogs failed miserably. Destiny, AC Unity were all right, but I expected much more. The best games of that year were RPGS like Dark Souls and Dragon Age, which aren't my cup of tea. I spend the most time playing FIFA 15 and the remaster of GTA, which really says something about that year. 2015 isn't starting much better though, yes - Witcher III and Bloodborne (again the RPG genre I'm not very fond of). I guess it's the golden age of RPGs. I sure hope this year we see other great games - high hopes for Arkham Knight, Battlefront, the NFS reboot, MGS V. Slim hopes for AC Syndicate and Mad Max.

I haven't played any 2014 games - Besides a few minutes of Smash 3DS on someone else's 3DS.

The beginning of a generation is almost always down, especially with how long games take to develop on new hardware and with new tools.

On the other hand, downloadable games keep improving by leaps and bounds and we're getting more Japanese stuff localized than we have since the PS2. It's kind of funny that, even with all the complaining, there is so much more content to play now than at the start of last gen.

Next year should be absolutely loaded. This year has Fallout 4, which will last me for months.

Not me. I like RPG's. It sucks that you think that of 2014. I hope that more games to your liking come out.

Smash Wii U came out, so 2014 felt great, IMO.

I wasn`t disappointed with the games in 2014 myself. There were some great games for me to play, like Tropical Freeze, MK8, Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros, and Bayonetta. It was good, at least for me.

I bought a console last year so I thought it vvas okay. This year so far is okay until all my jrpgs and fallout 4 releases.

Well, the most popular opinion is that the big three new IPs of 2014 (Titanfall, Destiny, Watch_Dogs) all were disappointing.
