I like to debate so the "console war" works out for me. It's really not different from sport fans are. It's entertaining to me. I mainly like to converse with others that have similar hobbies.

I have never liked the console wars. To me it would be much more benificial to the industry if Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple, Google, and Samsung came together for an industry standrard. The way the games industry is run, it is no wonder it is still looked at by many as an immature hobby. Every other form of media and entertainment has come to a standard delivery format that works the same across every supported device.

As I said in the Evo of Fanboy thread, I like to try and convince people to go PlayStation, but I also am very open about a standard platform, dvd, blu-ray, cd, cassett, etc. I would rather see wars over what games are better, than what peice of plastic and metal are better.

It's unnecessary bull**** that doesn't help anybody and those that are obsessed on the interweebs I think have some social issues.(edit: I doubt anyone here is obsessed from my viewing so don't ban me pls kthxbi)

But I admit, sometimes they are fun to watch, only if the debate is ridiculous and makes me wonder why it is even happening.
