Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: We didn't want to show "wonderful footage" of Zelda WiiU and disappoint fans at E3

Though, to their defense, the 2011 showing was a tech demo and wasn`t an actual game in development, and they officially revealed Zelda U with the assurance that it would be a 2015 game, but then it got delayed. They probably don`t want to repeat that again until they are sure the game will be released not long after.

The point that they thought it would be a 2015 game doesn't really explain much. If they showed a game in mid-2014 while expecting it to release in late 2015, why not show a game in mid-2015 while expecting it to release in late 2016?

Maybe because of what happened with the previous situation. Perhaps they don`t want to repeat what could happen again if the game ends up being delayed again to 2017 (Though if that were to happen again, that would be really embarrassing and terrible looking on their part). It`s unlikely to happen, but it is something that could def happen again, which seems like at least Reggie would like to avoid.

But I think at that point they would just not put in all the ideas that have potential, and use those for the even bigger (In scale) Zelda for the Wii U's successor, instead of delaying it when the ideas come.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

I don`t think they will withhold any ideas they have for Zelda U for the next Zelda game, as I don`t think we`ll see another one for awhile now. Though whether they do hold back ideas for the next one or not, not sure if we`ll ever know. Though as long as Zelda U is excellent, I won`t really mind.

So.. why did they show this game last E3? We couldn't play it last year anyways.

JUST SHOW MORE FOOTAGE AND HYPE PEOPLE UP. Look at XCX~~~

Reggie's body was not ready for The Legend of Zelda, it would appear.

It was a terrible decision. Most Nintendo fans wouldn't be complaining as much if they showed it.

But it shows that Zelda is overvalued by nintendo fans if a footage for a known to be released game would make such a difference in the perception of the conference.

What kind of ass backwards logic is this? Like seriously?

If the footage was so wonderful why would it disappoint us?

Reggie I know you were there in 2004 don't tell me you can't even remember how "disappointed" people were to see Zelda

Yup, seeing new footage of the most anticipated game on the system would be so disappointing.

On the other hand, handheld Metroid soccer, Animal Crossing Amiibo Minigame, and Mario Sports Game #75,681 is exactly what gamers want to see.
