I'm still kinda of burnt out on WWII shooters, there were way too many of them. Wouldn't feel at all new or interesting if they did another one. Basing it on a different historical period that hasn't been done to death would be cool though, a Korean or Vietnam one could be interesting or maybe even WWI.

Actually, yes. Battlefield: Vietnam... give us something like this again, please!

Vietcong (PC), made by guys who made Mafia, back in early 2000s - arguably the best FPS experience from that period, still one of my favorites in genre.

OT - new Wolfenstein (New Order, Old Blood), is set in WW2, it's not all realistic though, but it's almost as good as cult classic Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I'm done with present/futuristic FPS for now so I'd like a WWII shooter. I really like history so the fact they're based on historic events is always a plus for me.

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, PSP, XBOX 360, Atari Lynx

the most important thing is that a new ww2 fps uses alot of sabaton to make the game sound great and make the player pumped all the fuckn time.

and they have a song for every major event in ww2, and alot songs about smaller events that would be fun to play.

I agree that a return to WW2 would be good, but the kind of users that buy those big FPS games now want more than what a WW2 game can offer. And I'm talking about new and fancy weapons, laser sights, night vision googles, etc. They would find a WW2 game boring.

But what they could do is a WW2 game based on the British Commandos. A game less based on shooting everyone and more on finding/creating a path between the enemy forces to accomplish your mission with the little resources you have (besides the ones you can get from fallen enemies) and then trying to get to your evacuation point alive.

Please excuse my bad English.

Yes. An all encompassing one. EA, Ubisoft, or Activision would have to fund this game or one of the console makers because I really want a complicated game. First off we're doing plane, tank, and infantry combat with some artillery and ship combat thrown in. Second off, I want to play as every side. Not just the allies, but everyone. I want it to include the whole timeline of the war and all the big battles and advances. I want to play as the Nazis in the beginning as they storm across Czech., France, bomb Britain, and advance into Russia and North Africa. I want to be the Japanese taking over the Pacific with their last mission being Pearl Harbor or Midway or the Phillipines. THEN I want the campaign to switch perspectives (or we can keep getting missions for the others as they retreat) and let you play as Americans in both theaters (8th gen D-day invasion would be epic), British airmen or infantry, Russians (stalingrad 8th gen!) to the end. That would be epic to me and if it has some more open environments like Shadowfall that would be extra awesome. That would be my WW2 game.

Just give me a COD2, COD3, World At War remaster all on one disc with the multiplayer fully in tact and that would fill my old style FPS itch for the entire generation.

IGN just published an article with an interview with Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg stating a World War 2 shooter comeback is 'certainly possible': http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/06/23/e3-2015-activision-world-war-2-shooter-comeback-certainly-possible?%20hub%20page%20(front%20page)&utm_content=13
