Well I finally got around to beating metroid prime 3, it was a good game but is my least favorite of the prime series. I have now finally completed all metroid games other than the first.

You won't be a full fan until you beat the original :P

I shamefully have to agree with you, I need to give it a serious chance sometime. Every time I start metroid 1 it usually doesn't stay on for more than ten minutes or so.
