Forums - Nintendo - What if Mario Maker was only the first in the Maker serie ?

SMBX has its Adventure Island maker. not sure when did Nintendo have this Mario maker idea. SMBX is kinda cool but of course Nintendo doesn't other people to use their proprietary products and wanted to officially release a Mario Maker. Zelda, and other big IPs would surely be next and I won't be surprised.

Mario is about lulzploration (what I just made up meaning exploration for the lulz), a simple plot (Princess peach got kidnapped again...), and drugs (the mushrooms, man).

Zelda is about legitimate exploration (aka not seeing a room of 50 jump trampolines), a very detailed story (particularly with their more modern games. Skyward Sword had a phenominal story in it), and is a lot more grounded overall. I do not think this would work and I don't want it to happen.

ALL zelda games should be built with the timeline in mind and should be able to fit into it. If it doesn't fit into the timeline, change the characters and call it something else.

Don't think there would be a Zelda Maker, but it would be nice to make your own Mario Kart stages

I don't think we'll see a Zelda Maker (unless it's limited to dungeon crafting), but if MM is a success, we'll see a DK maker, a Kirby Maker, a Metroid Maker... if the NX is really powerful, a 3D Mario Maker would be spectacular.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I WANT A METROID MAKER

I kind of doubt it. I would kill for a Pikmin map editor though.

What comes after Mario Maker? -> Mario 3D Maker.

Well they already had Wario Ware Maker...aka Wario Ware DIY

i think all this mario maker hype and that nintendo wants to sell it as their "big game" is ridiculous. Other 2d Plattformers (like little big planet) come with editor for years. Their were for included into the games.
Both xbox and ps got/will get 3d level creator (prject spark and dreams).
I dont see whats special about mario maker. It should be a 10$ eshop title.

It's a lot, lot more polished than any official level editor in plateformer games. I'm a fan of Little Big Planet, but man i'm never gonna use again its level editor when I'll get Mario Maker, because it has the best physics in the world of platformer 2D, multiples skins include a HD one, a big community that will follow for sure and the simple fact that you could do just everything you want, with almost no restrictions and with Mario assets.

And for what I've heard, Project Spark isn't really good.
