Think about it, Mario Maker will probably be a great success, since it's Mario in 2D and appeal both old and new fans. But what if we expand (not dong) the concept to more Nintendo franchises ?

Imagine a Zelda Maker, with assets from Zelda 1, A Link to The Past, Link's Awakening and A Link Between Worlds, for a 3DS release ? You could make maps in a limited size, then make another one and put it next to the first map, and so for 4-5 other maps. That would be a whole little Zelda game, which could be uploaded online and downloaded. Since we'll probably never gonna get another 2D Zelda after the 3DS, that would be the best final gift from this old part of the Zelda series.

I think Nintendo said they want to make this into a franchise, but I don't remember if they were referring to Mario Maker specifically or other IPs as well.

I think it is only the first in the series. I think it might replace NSMB. Instead we get updated versions of Mario Maker!

I don't think they will do it with other IPs though...

I could see them doing that for Mario Kart , since its a really popular series. Or they can put it as the next dlc.

A good Zelda maker already exists.
