Forums - Nintendo - How Will Nintendo Achieve BC next generation, if they do?

Will they use some form of software emulation to emulate the Wii U's PPC, like XBO with regards to XB360? Will they continue with the Wii U's archictecture and expand on it? Will they leave the Wii U's architecture but have an Wii U CPU built in as a sound chip or other secondary processor? What do you think?

I really don't see them going with the PPC architecture again. They will have software emulation.

I don't think they'll bother... I mean assuming there next console does not use something similar to a WiiU gamepad you'll need one of those so you may as well just keep the old console too.

either they'll drop it (preferred) or they do what they've always done and put a last gen console inside your next gen console ensuring that the cost/tech ratio remains overpriced.

If they do decide to go the x1 route, it shouldn't be too hard since most of the games that people care about are made by Nintendo (Provided it is powerful enough and its x86). If its PowerPC, then it should be really easy

They wont have BC me thinks

best solution is to drop BC sometimes.

Came here to ask the same thing, actually. I say they drop the BC next gen. People always claim it's a huge selling point, but it doesn't seem like sales figures reflect that.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

IMO they should have NO BC and DROP the Wii remote. They can have like a new motion thing, but it shouldnt be their main focus.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Please.......no BC if it will reduce NX hardware in someway.
