Forums - Nintendo - What happened to Devil's Third? Project Guard? Project Giant Robot???

Seriously though? What happened? This game were shown last year and now are nowhere to be found?  has anyone asked Reggie or Iwata in an interview?  Is this Nintendo and the case of the dissapearing games?

I'm betting that Nintendo thought that it would be drowned out by all the other shooters, etc, if they showed it off at E3, and anything they showed of it would just get compared to XBO and PS4 titles.

If I'm right, there'll be a Nintendo Direct in a few weeks dedicated to it, where they can show it off properly and keep all attention on the game.

Project Guard and Giant Robot were just tech demos. You might see bits of them in Star Fox Zero but those were not true games.

What about Project Treasure?
What about a possible Pokken port?

Devil's Third is releasing in Europe and Japan in August, so there's that. Not sure why they didn't show anything during E3.
Project Guard is normally going to be part of Star Fox and I've read that Project Robo has been put on hold.

If Project guard is part of StarFox now, Then I am at least more hyped for starfox...

''One of Miyamoto’s E3 2014 experiments, Project Guard—a Wii U game about protecting a base from invaders using security cameras and turrets—is still in the works and still tied to the Star Fox universe, Hayashi is overseeing it, also with the help of Platinum. Miyamoto said it is meant to be played online and that Nintendo is still figuring out if or how to release it in conjunction with Star Fox Zero. Development of Giant Robo, another E3 2014 experimental game, is on hold.''

Via Kotaku but i saved you from visiting that site

I think that the post-apocalytic fuedal US setting might have NoA spooked. Doesn't help that the protagonist is a former terrorist agent. Nintendo never got the memo that controversy sells video games.

A little GTA-style negative press might help this game eek over 500k lifetime WW.

EDIT:

I hope you're right.

The graphics still look a little last-gen, but the game has been polished up pretty nicely since last year and I'm happy with the visuals. The multiplayer looks frentic, fun, and varied. I really hope we get to play this game soon. It would be a great way for NoA to break up the May 29th - Sept 11th game drought between "Splatoon" and "Mario Maker".

Nintendo foten tries to keep their directs family friendly. Maybe they decided that Devil's Third was too graphic or something. Seems like a stupid choice, but that could be the explanation.
