Forums - Gaming - "The next Metroid Prime wont be on Wii U , would be on NX"

At this point, if you are waiting for metroid prime style  or zelda game to buy a Wii U, you are better off waiting for a confirmed release date to see if the game will be cross platform. If those games are cross platform, there is no point in investing right now for a Wii U and just wait for their next platform.

Also, this pretty much confirms a Metroid Prime 4 instead of a different 3D Metroid, which makes me barf.

What if those ideas to Prime 4 becomes Metroid Prime Federation Force 2 HD?

I'd be down. I actually like what I saw of Prime Federation. Just not a fan of the chibi art style.

The important information here is that there's no Metroid Prime title in development (aside from that weird 3DS game), that means that Retro's next game isn't Metroid.

It should be clear to everyone that they won't release a Metroid game on Wii U in 2018 (because the development needs 3 years), that would be absurd.

The Wii U is dead. I think it's smart for Nintendo to concentrate exclusively on the NX. They must go all out to succeed this time around.

It likely means that the only Wii U projects left are the ones that are in active development right now.

New projects starting at Nintendo today or recently are going to be for the NX going forward.

Even for people who say "it won't launch till 2017!", well ok, but you do realize games don't magically make themselves overnight right?

Even to launch in 2017, they have to start making games right now, we're already half way through 2015 and factoring in 5-10 extra months of development time needed to get to grips with new hardware too.

Wii U will not be getting a Metroid game it looks like, Animal Crossing (a real one) is likely out too, and so is the next 3D Mario. Those are all going NX most likely.

Not sure why Nintendo fans want the sinking ship to stay on the market. Shouldn't they support the company they love if Nintendo do decide to release something new, not very good fans otherwise. Decisions are taken from a business perspective, respect that. It sells poorly, no third party developers are interested in it and does not make any money.

Yes, next proper Metroid "Prime" will be on NX, that doesn't mean that the people at NCL aren't working on some sort of Metroid themselves, some sort of non-first-person shooter adventure game. I don't mean that whatever NCL is working on will be on Wii U though. Perhaps Nintendo SPD is maybe working on some sort of side-scrolling Metroid game....(or not!)

Also, the wording does seem like they're implying that they haven't even started working on their next game; however I extremely doubt that they've done absolutely nothing for the past year and a half after DKCTF. I mean, if I were a development studio developing something for a console or device that hasn't even been revealed, the console developers won't be particularly happy about me spilling the info about a game that will exist on a future console that hasn't been announced yet.

And yeah, Wii U is dead, certain Nintendo fans need to accept this.

Finally, someone who understands thinks a bit.
