Forums - Gaming - My first yearly E3 report card. Rating the big 3!

Who had the best show?

Microsoft 3 9.09%

Sony 30 90.91%

Nintendo 0 0%

Total:33

Just like in school. A is best and F is worst. Very simple. I will be honest and fair, despite my console preference. Please remember that these are just my opinions. Here goes!

Microsoft: A-

They delivered a solid show. They had several exclusive games that should please most Xbox owners. Halo 5, Gears 4, New Fable, New Forza etc. The Rare collection is cool for those who like those games. It is a good value for what you get. More Tomb Raider footage and Dark Souls 3.

The one thing that boosted this from a B- was backwards compatibility! That was a big surprise and with hundreds of titles coming, it is a much welcome feature! They also had an interesting show for their hybrid VR/reality device.

Sony: A-

The Last Guardian, Horizon, Street Fighter 5, Dreams, Final Fantasy World, Assassin's Creed, and especially the shocking FF7 remake! Wow, what a show! The surprise factor was high. New footage of No Man's Sky showed off how vast it is. The new Batman footage was creepy, yet interesting.

I feel their Morpheus showing was not detailed enough, and it was highly disappointing that no price cut was made to any of their systems. Otherwise, they would have gotten an A+.

Nintendo: D

Their showing was weaker than I thought. Very few surprises; very few new games period. No price cuts to their overpriced systems. Short show. Very disappointing.

Starfox, Xenoblade X, the new Fire Emblem, and Mario Maker were showed again; however, we have seen plenty of Mario Maker, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade already. What people wanted to see more of the most was Zelda for Wii U... nothing.

There were a few surprises. Nothing was very exciting in my opinion. A new Zelda for 3DS using an old concept: co op Links. A downgraded Metroid Prime for 3DS. I hope it was my computer screen, or bad footage, because the graphics looked weak. There was a new Paper Mario/regular Mario mix game. It was probably the most interesting concept of the show.

Their was a little more that was so forgettable that I can't remember enough details to describe them. Oh yeah, more Animal Crossing and a weird looking JRPG that didn't interest me a bit. And I'm a JRPG fan.

I was hoping for a true HD Metriod. You know, not Prime, but a more traditional Metroid. Even Prime would have been Ok if it was on Wii U. I wanted more surprises and a price cut to Wii U and New 3DS. I wanted to see new footage of Zelda for Wii U. I just felt let down.

Like I said, the backwards compatibility boosted my score for them.

Sony has the best one but Microsoft came close as well. Nintendo's was awful, i'm still baffled by how they went from an amazing E3 2014 to somehow this.

I have a hard time deciding between MS and Sony. They were so close. Yes, Nintendo is easily the worst. Agreed.

A-? How da hell do you best Sony's show? Can you imagine a future E3 that can beat it? Sony's conference is 11/10 to me.

Microsoft - B+

Halo looked cool and backwards compatibility is a huge plus. I liked their show. It really boosted my faith in the Xbox One and what it could be.

Sony - A

They showed games... A fair number of them in fact. Horizon looked amazing. It was the highlight of the show for me.. I refuse to get overhyped about the FFVII remake. Dampen the exceptions....... DAMPEN.

Nintendo - D-

Nintendo would've been better off presenting nothing at all. Nothing says out of touch more than this E3 digital event. It was bad. Amiibo Animal Crossing Party... Why not a proper Animal Crossing game?. A Zelda game no one asked for... I'm also pretty sure I saw Metroid somewhere in there, but was it truly Metroid? Paper Mario... I would've liked a proper Paper Mario game to be honest.

Then they showed games we already knew about it and there was really nothing new and exciting revealed about them. There was no real flow. There was no real excitement. That doesn't mean I won't buy Star Fox, Woolly World, or Super Mario Maker, but I wanted more to be excited about... I'm disappointed.

I say Sony was the best as well.  But opinions are opinions right?
