Forums - Nintendo - Satoru Iwata is Taking Opinons of digital event seriously, will work to meet expectations

They did this to themselves. They announced new stuff and released trailers and allowed leaks for a month or so leading to E3. Should have saved their ammo. I mean, why did they gloss over FE and XCX? Why didn't they have a sizzle real of indkes with substantial FAST Racing Neo footage? Why didn't they have anything for Devil's Third, Fatal Frame V, and other titles? It made them look weaker than they are.

Now this weak showing will overshadow all the good until they can get damage control in place.

in 2013 people were meh, saying it was alright/lame. Nintendo fans said they won everyone else was saying sony won for slamming microsoft. In 2014, everyone agreed nintendo won. in 2015 most people are upset. I'm sensing a trend of good---->bad----->good. I'm not worried we have more games to be announced during E3 and at least 2 more nintendo directs. Nintendo does need to learn from this though.

I dont know if this is their strategy to make the next one seem 'GOOD' when people compare it to this year.

I don't think that its their strat its just that a lot of people came in expecting a lot after last year. Treehouse wont feel as special as it did last time so that's anothing thing. Nintendo does need to stop holding back/ releasing their bombs before E3 if they want this backlash to end though.

Well its too late to fix it now. E3 is the biggest conference of the year.

You know the first half the direct was really good. It was just the latter half that was horrible.

And that only 2 new Wii U games were announced.

And one of them was a slap to the face on one of Nintendo's biggest fanbase.

So there's that.

Just give us more games especially on Wii U

Funny, that's sadly just what they did. Compare the 14 First party titles of this year's E3 to the 7 (Smash, Splatoon, Yoshi, Kirby, Toad and Pokemon ORAS, Starfox; Hyrule Warriors is Tecmo Koei and Bayonetta 2 only being financed) from last year's event. Worse even, in order to develop more games they are forced to make smaller ones, a turn which really wasn't well recieved this year to put it kindly.
